I really want to help people, but until recently I didn't honestly see how Jesus could do that on his own.
People need water. People need food. Children need care. Refugees need homes. Prostitutes need love. Soldiers need security.
The idea of "all you need is Jesus" seemed too theoretcal, far off.
But we are the body of Christ.
I am apart of Jesus!
So are you.
People need us to answer prayers - and we must go...
But I think that to understand that you have to somehow internalize that in your own life, and it is the most amazing choice you can make:
The concept that we can trade our pain for joy, that the sacrafice of Jesus on the cross actually means that even though I'm sinful and I live in a sinful world my shame and fear and burdens can be traded for joy has become a reality to me.
Just the knowledge of Jesus can bring peace, just surrender to Him, joy, and meerly submission to the Spirt of the Lord can lead people and change their lives and their world.
If I can be the hands of Jesus, I will. If I can transfer some of God's love to a prostitute or God's care to orphans, I will.
But I must tell the world that Jesus lives.
I must tell them that he died for them and that he lives again.
I've been praying that I would fall in love with the Lord - it is a lot easier to want to listen to a lover than an almighty concept - and the amazing Father is teaching me to love Him in a new way, enough that I'm convinced and convicted that:
Jesus is actually the answer.
