By no means do these pictures do this beautiful place and it's people justice. Nor do I have, on this post, pictures of everything we do, because we have already done much, met many people, been many places and seen many interesting things.
This is where we live. The pastor's family, a permanent missionary and a few other Nicaraguans live here too. The room to the far right is also used as a community sowing room.
This is an average street in downtown Jinotepe. The city is filled with colour and always bustling with life.
We walk everywhere!
Ministry related to children is drastiacally different than ministry related to youth and adults. It is refreshing. It doesn't require words or wisdom, but rather joy and tenderness.
... and sometimes it requires a wooden wheelbarrow and a lot of energy. :)
This is a typical street in the barrios. The metal sheeting you see on the left is not actually the wall of a house (although many look similar) but a fence, fortified with barbed wire, to resist theives from entering their small homes. This picture was actually capturing a rare and quiet momet. Ussually there are many people walking and playing in the streets and in visible backyards.
Some places are just breathtaking.
Soccer is a religion here, and a great way to empower young ladies... and so we play.
The only thing that we do more than walking is praying. :)
There are thousands more pictures, literally, and hundreds of stories, but, for today, this will have to do.
y, internet
connection is slow so pictures upload very, very slowly so here are a small portion of the photos I intended to show you. Vida are, for the most part, wonderful people. However, many of them live under a different mentality than we do - survival mode. Thus, my camera, with all of my photos from Nicaragua, is gone forever, in the hands of someone who probably needed the money they sold it for. I intend on getting another camera when I have an oppurtunity, but for now I have a few pictures from a teammate for you to enjoy.
